Spring Sadhana

Immersion Study Group

Come deepen your practice—on and off the mat.

Deepen, Refine, Expand

For life on and off the mat

Deepen your practice. Refine your understanding. Live your yoga.

This program is for students wishing to explore the deeper dimensions of yoga with an eye on self-discovery and teaching. Whether you are simply curious about exploring yoga, an experienced practitioner, or have a 200-hour teaching certificate already, this program will spark your curiosity and creativity with thought-provoking discussions and challenging practices grounded in the fundamentals of Iyengar yoga. As well as help you consolidate your understanding, organize it and prepare you to share it with others.

We will use philosophy, asana, anatomy, and subtle practices like mantra and pranayama to support your growth both on and off the mat. Each session builds upon the last, creating a rich and transformative journey through the deeper teachings of Iyengar Yoga.

What to Expect in Each Session

Each 2.5-hour session offers a structured yet exploratory format:

Rooting in Knowledge
Begin with a key yogic concept—whether a philosophical principle, teaching skill, or technique for deepening practice. We’ll also explore basic anatomy and physiology to support safe, sustainable practice.

Embodied Exploration
Practice a sequence of asanas that brings the theme to life, helping you experience its effects physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Interactive Learning
Those interested can practice teaching an asana to the group. This strengthens both your personal understanding and confidence.

Reflection & Integration
End with discussion, reflection, and Q&A on how to carry the insights off the mat and into your daily life.

2026 Study Dates

Spring Sadhana

The Spring Sadhana is a three-month immersion exploring the foundational teachings of the Yamas and Niyamas through both discussion and practice.

Each session will thoughtfully balance philosophy and asana. We will examine the five Yamas: non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, continence, and non-possessiveness and the five Niyamas: cleanliness, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender through the lens of modern life.

Through guided reflection and structured practice, we will explore how these principles can positively inform and refine our asana practice as well as create greater clarity and intention on and off the mat.
