Yoga for Better Balance

  • In Person & Online at California Yoga Center 1776 Miramonte Avenue Mountain View, CA, 94040 United States (map)

Balance is about more than standing on one leg. It's the foundation for moving through life with confidence.

Balance depends on the coordinated action of many parts of the body, including the feet and ankles, legs, hips, pelvic floor, core, and lower back. This workshop offers an opportunity to explore these areas in greater depth than is often possible in a regular class.

Saturday August 15th, 1:00-3:30 pm PDT

This workshop is designed for students with at least six months of yoga experience who would like to improve their balance, stability, and confidence in movement.

Through thoughtfully sequenced asana, students will develop strength, mobility, and awareness while learning how balance can be improved through both stability and flexibility.

This workshop is for:

  • Students who would like to improve their balance and stability

  • Practitioners wanting to maintain healthy balance as they age

  • Those looking to build strength and confidence in movement

  • Students interested in developing a simple home practice for balance

A minimum of six months of yoga experience is recommended.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand their own balance patterns and challenges

  • Identify the muscles that support stability

  • Strengthen and lengthen key areas involved in balance

  • Use props to build strength, mobility, and confidence

  • Modify poses to make them more accessible and effective

Students will also learn several poses that can be practiced at home to continue supporting balance and stability.
