Inversions for Everybody - A Safe and Supported Approach

  • In Person & Online at California Yoga Center 1776 Miramonte Avenue Mountain View, CA, 94040 United States (map)

Come explore a new way to approach inversions.

Although they are a hallmark of Iyengar yoga, you may have decided you can’t do them. Join internationally recognized instructor Roger Cole for an informative, hands on class focused on both the science and practice of inversions.

Saturday, September 26th, 1:00-4:00 pm PDT

Roger will teach the physiology and psychology of inversions (postures that position the head below the heart and/or legs) in an intuitive way by tightly pairing scientific explanations with direct practice of asanas. You will literally feel the science at work in your own body and mind as you systematically work through a graded sequence of poses.

The first part of class will be a lecture & presentation to review the physiology and psychology of yoga asanas that prepare the body for inverting (the process of positioning the head below the heart and/or legs). Then we will practice an approachable and supported sequence of postures so we can explore and experience the process.

Roger will be adapting inversions for all levels of students. You will learn a new approach and feeling to your inversions. You don’t need to be proficient in headstand or shoulder stand to reap the benefits of this workshop and the teaching.

This workshop is for:

  • Students interested in exploring inversions and their benefits

  • Those looking for refinement in their practice

  • Understanding the physiology of yoga asana in both theory and practice

  • Building confidence in practicing safely — both in class and at home

Saturday, September 26th from 1:00-4:00 pm PDT in Person & Online
